From 1985-1990, Dr. Strenk worked with The Fransen Company of Santa Monica, California, where he engaged in extensive fieldwork and research in regional malls, community centers, resorts and mixed-use projects. He has prepared business plans, strategic plans, feasibility and marketing studies, site and project analyses and user profiles for a variety of clients, major development companies and retailers in the USA.
Dr. Strenk has also developed a specialization in Mexico in the course of doing feasibility studies of many major Mexican markets for both Mexican and American developers and retailers.
Dr. Strenk is a member of the Urban Land Institute,
the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Los Angeles World Affairs
Council, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Los Angeles Museum
of Science and Industry, as well as the Koroibos Foundation.
William Shepard, Jr. has been an associate of SPCI since 1993. He brings over twenty years of progressive experience in retail real estate development, single-asset and multi-property management, marketing, leasing and brokerage to consulting projects. He has been active in the development, planning and execution, from the conceptual design stage to the completion, of mixed-use projects, regional shopping centers and office buildings.
Mr. Shepard has produced strategic plans and entry
strategies and done fieldwork for a number of American companies seeking
to enter the market, and has assisted them in site analysis and selection
in Mexico. He specializes in Texas, the Rio Grande Valley, Chihuahua, Nuevo
Leon, Tamaulipas, Mexico City, Yucatan and Quintana Roo areas.
Eduardo Trevino is an assoicate of SPCI and brings fourteen years of managerial experience both in Mexico and in the United States. He provides fieldwork services in California and Central Mexico.
Born in Mexico City, Mr. Trevino has maintained close relationships with the business community of the country of mexico, and his bicultural skills have allowed him to be very effective both in Mexico and the U.S. He has studied and evaluated many of the major markets of Mexico and brings a thorough understanding of ethnic markets to his work in the U.S.
Patrick Escobar serves as SPCI's master strategist. His bilingual abilities have been especially useful in assessing various psycho-demographics of the fast changing retail markets in California, Arizona and Texas.
Homero Reyes is an associate of SPCI and is responsible
for much of the fieldwork along the USA-Mexico border and in the states
of Baja California and Sonora. He brings over twenty years of experience,
studying cross-border shopping patterns, to his work. In addition, Mr.
Reyes is an instructor with the University of California Extension program
and serves as a consultant for both US Customs and Mexican Customs. His
area of specialization includes Baja California and Sonora area trends.
Joan Dewar is Vice President of Marketing for
SPCI with over eighteen years of sales and marketing experience. She also
oversees the demographic, economic and trends research at SPCI. She has
extensive experience working with property managers, architects, engineers,
retail stores, manufacturers and hotels, having been a broker with international
and regional insurance firms.
Sharon Barker is a Research Associate with SPCI. She brings twelve years of management experience with Southern California Gas Company in the area of engineering and design to her work for SPCI's clients. She has 13 years of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) experience using Microstation software. Ms. Barker uses her cartography and design expertise to enhance, integrate and assess SPCI's maps, photographs, charts and various statistical and demographic data.
