34. Daniel ALWARD Jr
was born before 1768 in New Jersey. He died on 23 May 1837 in Humberstone Twp,
Welland Co, Ontario. He was buried. BIRTH- He is named in his Father's
will. Brown indicates that he came
from Parr Town (Saint John, New Brunswick) in 1788 with his
brother William. (from Bruce Johnson, Ann Arbor, MI.) MARIAGE- The
names Rueben and Effie would indicate that his first wife
may have been of Dutch descent. His second wife is named in
his will. (?Did she remarry after his death?). (from Bruce
Johnson, Ann Arbor, MI.) DEATH: Will written 25 Dec. 1812;
proven at the Surrogate Court of
Upper Canada, Niagra District 10 Feb. 1813. Humberstone Twp.,
was in Lincoln Co., Upper Canada in 1831 and later in Welland Co.
Ontario. His will names wife Elizabeth and children Rueben,
Daniel, Jemima Cline and Effie Smith, indicated that Effie
probably first married a Smith. He was married. Children were:

ALWARD was born about 1788. He died about 1830 in Charlotteville Twp, Norfolk
Co, Ontario. He was christened. He was buried. BIRTH- Land records indicate
that he was a Militia Pensioner. He is given
in the 1812 Census of Woodhouse, next to George Sergeant, William
Sells, James Davis, John Boston; no age given for him.

Petitions, 1838 (C 22, 105) Effie Phillips of
Bayham (Charlotteville) and her sister Jemimah Cline of Yarmouth
are given as Full blood sisters and only heirs at law." of Rueben
Alward who died "10 years since intestate" and who held
land at Lot
11 in the 11th Conc. of Charlotteville Twp., Norfolk Co., Upper
Canada. Nicolas and Silas Carter of Malahide (who I believe were
first cousins) gave oath that the Effie and Jemimah were sisters
of

Daniel ALWARD was born about 1790 in Bertie Twp, Welland Co, Ontario. He
was christened. He died. He was buried. BIRTH- This may be the Daniel
Alward in the 1828 Census for Bertie. He
is with a wife, 5 daughters and 3 sons. This may also be the
Daniel Alward listed in the 1828 Militia Rolls, in the 3rd Reg.
Lincoln Milita (included Bertie and Humberstone). [ages not given
for this regmt]. He is with John Alward Jr. and next to James
Haun, Jediah Matthis, Stephen Haney, James Edsall, and not far away
from Henry Near, Henry Alward, Asa Schooley and Williwm Near.

Census he would probably have been married about 1808/1810. NO

Elgin Co, Ontario, Canada. She was christened. She was buried.

Jemima ALWARD was born about 1793 in Bertie Twp, Welland Co, Ontario. She
died on 21 Jan 1871 in South Dorchester, Elgin Co, Ontario. She was buried on
24 Jan 1871 in Burdick Cem, Malahide Twp, Elgin Co, Ontario. She was christened.
