Obituary in the Decatur Republican gives 3 Aug 1862. On 1900 census, birth year given as 1866. He moved before 1870 to Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI. He was a farmer between 1897 and 1934 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³²⁾⁽¹⁵⁾ He appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁴⁾ He is listed as white, born Aug 1866 in PA, age 33. He died on 9 Apr 1934 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³²⁾⁽³³⁾ Cause of death was cerebral apoplexy (stroke.) He was buried on 11 Apr 1934 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³³⁾ Alternate name spellings possible in ancestry: HIMMELRIGHT, HIMMELREICH. (Death certificate gives spelling as HEMMELWRIGHT.) He was married to Laura Mae TYLER before 1893.

15. Laura Mae TYLER was born on 12 Apr 1874 in Pennsylvania.⁽³⁵⁾ Birthplace given as Michigan on 1900 census. She appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁶⁾ She is described as wife of Samuel, age 26, born in MI. She died on 22 Jul 1947. She was buried on 25 Jul 1947 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI. She is buried under the name Mae Westerhoff. Children were:

i. Edward A HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 25 Jan 1893 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁷⁾⁽³⁸⁾ Birth year 1892 according to census of 1900. He appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁹⁾ He is described as son of Samuel, age 8, born in MI. He graduated in 1914 in Decatur High School, Decatur, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁸⁾ He was living on 12 Apr 1934 in Chicago, Cook Co, IL.⁽³³⁾ He died on 29 Jul 1958 in North Hollywood, , CA.⁽³⁸⁾ He was buried in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽³⁸⁾ Eldest son Edward eventually went to live in California, where he owned a boot and shoe shop. Magnolia says he married twice and did have children, but details are unknown at present.

Iva Gladys HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 10 Jan 1895 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁾⁽⁴⁰⁾ She appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴¹⁾ She is described as daughter of Samuel, age 5, born in MI. She was living before 1975 in Bippus, Huntington Co, IN. She died in Jun 1980 in Andrews, Huntington Co, IN.⁽⁴⁾ She had Social Security Number 310-10-2782.⁽⁴⁾

Albert William HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 23 Sep 1899 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴²⁾ He appeared on the census in Jun 1900 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴³⁾ He is described as son of Samuel, age 8 months, born in MI. He was a farmer between 1920 and 1934 in Decatur, Van Buren Co, MI. He died after 9 Aug 1934.⁽³³⁾ Albert was known to family members as "Stub." In the recollections of his nieces (Magnolia and Gale Ashton, August, 1997) he never married and always lived at home. According to Magnolia, he died in a motorcycle accident.
v. Gertrude M HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 24 May 1902 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁾⁽⁴⁴⁾ She died on 24 Dec 1977 in Gobles, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁾⁽⁴⁴⁾ She was buried on 27 Dec 1977 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁴⁾ She had Social Security Number 379-54-4745.⁽⁴⁾
vi. Earl Bennett HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 9 Jul 1905 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI. He was living on 9 Aug 1934 in Honolulu,, HI.⁽³³⁾ He died in 1970 in Hawaii. He was cremated in 1970. His ashes were scattered at sea. Magnolia and Gale Ashton (August, 1997) report that their Uncle Earl served in the army and probably retired with a military pension. He was in Hawaii at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor (December, 1941) and never returned to the mainland after that.
vii. Flora Mabel HIMMELWRIGHT was born on 1 May 1909 in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁾ She died on 18 Apr 1972 in Decatur, Van Buren Co, MI.⁽⁴⁾ She was buried in Hamilton Twp, Van Buren Co, MI. She had Social Security Number 384-30-1515.⁽⁴⁾
