68. Daniel ALWARD Sr was born about 1727 in Basking Ridge, Somerset Co, NJ. He died before 19 Mar 1801 in Bertie Twp, Welland Co, Ontario. He was buried. BIRTH- The Genealogical Magazine of New Jersey; A Genalogical Dictionary

p.5. MARRIAGE- Will gives wife's name as Jemima.
DEATH- Will probated, Ontario Register, Wills and Probate surrogate Court
records for Lincoln Co. (He lived at an area that later became,
Welland Co., Ontario), Will dated 23 Jan. 1800, probate registered
19 Mar 1801 (FHL film #579157). (FHL fim #0579149, under 1801,
gives that William Alward wea greated land 18 Mrch 1801 from the
estate of Daniel Alward, appraised by Joseph Marsh, John Wilson and
David Baxter). In the 1828 Census far Bertie Twp., Daniel Alward
Jr. is living next to Jacob Willson and David Baxter. (There is a
Daniel or David "That went to Frent Creek"; Littel.) (researched
by Bruce Johnson, Ann Arbor, MI.) He was married to Jemima about 1755 in New Jersey.

69. Jemima was born. She was christened. She died. She was buried. BIRTH-
MARRIAGE- she is listed on husband's will Children were:

child i. William ALWARD was born about 1760 in New Jersey. He died between Apr 1825 and 1832 in Bertie Twp, Welland Co, Ontario. (Date was given in record as APR 1825/1832.) He was christened. He was buried. BIRTH- He is named in his father's will.
There is a Wm. Allwood in the 1828 Militia Roll petition undated,
so it could have been before his death in 1825. It indicates
that he live in Walpole but must cross the Grand River to muster
with the Norfolk Militia. (source-Bruce Johnson, Ann Arbor, MI) DEATH- Welland Co., Ontario. Probate, Book A, p. 478, Reg. #856; #8568;
FHL film 171007, index. Will given in FHL film #; Silas Carter
executor. Dated 5 April 1825 and proved at the Surrogate Court of
Upper Canada, Niagara District 17 May 1825.
child ii. Girl ALWARD was born about 1760 in New Jersey. She was christened. She died. She was buried.
child iii. Jemima ALWARD was born about 1762 in New Jersey. She died before 1830 in Bertie Twp, Welland Co, Ontario. She was christened. She was buried. BIRTH- NO birth or baptism record found in New Jersey. Edna Young Memoirs
give Silas' first wife as "Jemima Alwood." No mention of her in
Will of Daniel Alward, who had a wife Jemima. DEATH- No tombstone. No death record found [check Quaker records].
