Capital Ships

The 15 capital ships were built based on rediscovered technology of the Ancients.

Super Carrier: Einstein Class Ship: Einstein

The flagship of the fleet. It is the first ship of its class with two more coming into completion in the next year. This single ship has more firepower then a single Terran fleet. It also houses the Graviton Cannon, a huge weapon that with the power of the rest of the fleet can annihilate large moons and small planets. The ship has the ability to fly into the corona of a star due to advanced heat shielding and stabilizers for the effects of flying so close to a gravity well. It is also the largest ship ever constructed. Due to it's size, the Einstein uses two hyperspace drives.

Though it relies on fighter support and other cap ships for defense, the ship is equipped with formidable defenses. The 150 laser turrets cover the entire ship, leaving no blind spots. The largest concentrations of fire power are around the key points of the ship; command tower, engines, launch bays, and shield generators.

    Cruisers: Excelsior Class Ships: Excelsior, Lexington, Magellan, Essex, and Endeavor

    Cruisers are essentially smaller, more maneuverable, and less armed battleships. Their main duty is to cover the battleships and carriers from mid range attacks. They also serve as the main sensor platforms for the fleet. They can detect cloak vessels at ranges of 10 ly due to their sensitivity. The cruisers also equip holographic emitters to project other ships or some stellar objects that can fool the naked eye and most sensors for a period of time. The holo-emitters can simulate battle damage and affect energy and gravitons in its projection area.

    Light Carrier: Hawking Class Ships: Hawking and Faraday

    This class is based after the standard carrier. Supports 80 fighters, enough to run 8 squadrons. Defenses are geared for close range combat against fighters and light cap ships, but the ship still relies heavily on fighter support.

    These ships are designed to be backups to the main carrier. Both carriers hold secondary Combat-Information-Centers, and extreme amounts of communications equipment. They are also equipped with a high tension tractor beam for recovering debris.

    Destroyer: Yangs-Mills Class Ships:Yangs-Mills, Heisenberg, Plank, and Sagan

    Designed as first strike cap ships. They have had a high success rate against carriers and light cruisers. Also can take on two squadrons of fighters simultaneously. In the last hundred years, destroyers have taken the roles commonly given to gunboats and corvettes. These ships are small and fast. They are lightly armored but support a large arsenal of weapons. They have the capability to land on planets. They also have a new type of Matter/Antimatter Reactor that has a 40% output increase for a reactor its size and a more efficient hyperspacatial warp coil. This allows them to have hyperspace velocities close to ships many times its size.
